Student Ministry

We love young people and have a deep desire to help them embrace the WONDER of God, DISCOVER their purpose in life, and develop a PASSION for others. We long to partner with families in the spiritual formation of students. Please continue to scroll down to see what this journey looks like.

Programs

SML (Sunday Morning Live)

Sundays from 11:00 – noon

This is our Large Group meeting that’s designed to be friendly, fun, and challenging–all within an exciting atmosphere. This Sunday morning program shatters the “church is boring” stereotype and helps students celebrate life. It is filled with laughter, antics, videos, singing, dramas, and a message that challenges students towards spiritual maturity.

Life Groups

Wednesday Nights

Jr. high at 6:30pm @ church campus
Sr. high at 7:00pm in Homes

Jr. High students meet here on campus. Sr. High students meet in homes. This is a key program for making our large group (as experienced in SML) smaller by dividing into age-related Life Groups. Each Life Group meets for Bible study, spiritual growth, fellowship, prayer, and accountability. This Small Group setting is very effective in it’s ability to care for each individual student.

Events/Trips

Scheduled throughout the year.

Special Events and Trips are often the student’s first exposure to our ministry. These events are geared for students to bring their friends who don’t “do church” or “God stuff.” The goal is to break down any barriers that stand in the way of them coming to an understanding of the loving relationship that their Father in Heaven longs to share with them.

Worship Night – SNAC – SOAP

Sunday PM

There is something going on every Sunday evening:

SNAC
Every other Sunday, we will be meeting at various homes for food, fun, and fellowship (youth and parents welcome)

Worship Night or SOAP (Sick, Oppressed, Abandoned, Persecuted)
Every Sunday opposite SNAC, we will have Worship Night or SOAP. Worship Night meets at 7pm and is an extended worship experience at the Church. Come and encounter God in a new and fresh way. Each worship night will be a little different.

SOAP takes the afternoon and sometimes evening to go take Jesus seriously to reach out to the Sick, Oppressed, Abandoned, and Persecuted. We have partnered with a ministry called Mission Adalante’ and other local ministries.

FAQ

From Parents: How can you help me get my son/daughter connected?

If you need help getting your son or daughter connected to a ministry, please allow us to help. We promise to do these things:
1) We’ll have one of our leaders call and/or meet your student to personally invite him/her to one of our events.
2) We’ll have one of our student leaders do the same as #1.
3) We’ll share whatever information we can to help
you help your student get involved.

From Potential Volunteers: Does the Student Ministry need my help? If so, how can I help out?

Yes! We need help! There are lot of students in our church who may not have a Life Group this year. If you desire to serve in one of the most exciting ministries in our church, you’d be part of a great team of men and women volunteers who range in age from 21 to 81.
We are always looking for people to serve in our Student Ministry.

From Students: If God gave us the Bible so that we could understand Him better, then why are some parts of it confusing? Why did He not make EVERYTHING clear?

We must admit that there are parts of the Bible that are confusing. The Bible can be confusing in parts because Almighty God wrote it using human authors, in different languages, with different historical and cultural contexts. There are parts of the Bible that are difficult to understand, but an objective interpretation is possible. It is important to realize that the essential message of the Bible is clear and without dispute – “Love God and Love Others”, and trusting in Jesus is our only hope to be at peace and harmony with God and man.

From Students: If you had two minutes to convince a person of different belief about Jesus being our Leader and Forgiver, what would you say?

Some truly resist believing that Jesus is God’s Son. Jesus can only be one of three things: Lord, Liar, or Lunatic. He couldn’t be a LIAR, lies find ways to reveal themselves, especially after a century let alone two thousand years. In the last 2000 plus years there has not been any evidence to disprove the teachings of Jesus. He couldn’t be a LUNATIC, because his teaching and ministry healed the mentally ill and grants wisdom to those who truly follow him. So that leaves only one option, LORD. Try following him, and you will see what I am talking about. If that fails to convince them, show them with your life and keep loving them with no strings attached.
