Where do they meet?

They meet in homes in a relaxed and personal setting.

How long does each meeting last?

They meet for about two hours—doing life together takes time.

When do they meet?

The group selects a time that maximizes their ability to do community and grow. No Life Groups meet on Sunday morning as this is our key time to worship and serve with a team.

How many people are in a group?

They are limited in size to 10 or less people—community does not happen in a crowd.

How does care happen?

People need more than someone to check on them in times of need. They need friends to walk with them through the highs and lows of life. We have organized our church through Life Groups so that everyone can have true community. This focused approach begins with a leader and apprentice who take responsibility to lead a specific group of people. They lead the group in caring for one another so that people can grow in deep and genuine community.

How do they develop people?

The goal is not to teach studies but to build up people. Within the context of biblical community, people discover how to be free from the past and live a new life in Jesus. The curriculum and experiences are customized for each group’s spiritual objectives. God may not do in our lives what we expect, but if we follow him together, he always exceeds our expectations.

Why do the groups multiply?

Being a follower of Christ means that we are also called to lead others. Groups are designed to equip people to help others find Jesus and then to equip others to grow. Groups are made up of a leader, an apprentice, and future leaders. Multiplication is the practical measurement of spiritual leadership and kingdom growth. We lead people to Christ and then equip them to lead for Christ. Multiplication matters because people matter and need a place to connect.

During the term of the group, the leader trains an apprentice to be the leader of the next group. At the end of the group, the leader will take half the current group, and the apprentice will take the other half of the group. Then they will both add more members to their respective new groups, therefore allowing others to join groups with seasoned leaders.

What are Life Group Primary Objectives?

1. Reach and develop people in their God-given potential.
2. Equip people to live a kingdom centered life.
3. Enable people to lead others to follow Christ in and through biblical community.
4. Raise up leaders as lay-pastors to intentionally shepherd the Body.
