Step 3 Link up with a Ministry Team
Serve and Reach
Every member is gifted to serve with the body of Christ. That is why one of the three key things we do is equip people for service and link them to serve with a team. The Bible says, “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Eph. 2:10/NIV). God wants to work in us and then through us. Linking with others is essential in reaching our God-given potential and impacting others with God’s love. God calls us to serve him together and to maximize our God-given gifts.
How do I start serving with the Body? Link up with one of 5 key teams or begin with miscellaneous projects through the WIT team.
Join a Ministry Team
If you are ready to serve regularly with a team, we are ready to help you get going. You can Test Drive a Ministry—The best way to discover where you can serve is to take a test drive. You can shadow someone, ask some questions, and see what God shows you. You will probably need to try a few teams. God has a plan for the next season of your soul—don’t miss it!

Join a “Whatever It Takes” Team (WIT)
If you want to help with miscellaneous opportunities, joining a WIT Team is a great idea. A WIT team is assembled through email to address a short term project.
How does the WIT team work?
- Various opportunities to help in ministry are sent via email to registered team members.
- The email gives key information about a particular project (project manager, when the project will happen, what type of people are needed, what skills are necessary, how high a priority this project is, and how many people are needed).
- Interested members respond to the project manager to confirm participation or seek additional information. Members choose which project fits their abilities and availabilities.
- The goals of this path is to strengthen the participants, provide service opportunities for quick serve projects that support ministry, and help everyone serve with the Body.
- Can a person who serves in a key ministry be on the WIT too? Yes, if you feel called to do a few extra things, but if you are vested in a key ministry make sure you give that ministry your best.
